We've settled into the new workshop in Clayton. The prepared environment is finally quiet enough to hear the work and that kind of quiet, I've learned, is something you have to protect.
Story House has always been about the Porch. The open door. The collaborative work of sitting with someone else's story long enough to witness it honestly. That part isn't changing.
But as the studio matures, it's time to unlock the Hearth.
The Hearth is the inner room. The place where the longer, slower work happens — the craft conversations that don't fit neatly into a feed, the archival thinking, the reflections that need more space than a post allows.
I've opened a Patreon to help build this work sustainably. Not to scale it. Not to optimize it. Just to keep the lights on long enough for it to become what it's always been trying to be.
Inside there are two ways to pull up a chair:
The Workshop — This is where the raw material lives. Story seeds, fragments, behind-the-scenes of what it actually looks like to build something honest. If you've ever wanted to see inside the creative process before it gets polished, this is that room.
Story House Steward — The closest circle. For those who don't just want to witness the work but want to tend the house alongside me. This is where we pull up a chair and actually talk about it.
If you value a human-centered approach to story, if craft literacy and narrative sovereignty matter to you I'd be glad to have you inside.
